White Grey is a shade from the 3rd Generation Acrylics range from AK interactive. It is a water-thinnable acrylic (not a lacquer, not an enamel) in a 17 ml dropper bottle. The paint is non-toxic, highly pigmented and covers well, and it is intended for the brush and for the airbrush. It is thinned with water; for the airbrush the manufacturer recommends its own 3rd Gen acrylic thinner, which compared with plain water reduces the paint drying at the tip of the nozzle and clogging it. It is a modeling paint, not a kit.
White Grey is an off-white with a cool, gray cast. On a model that is an essential difference: pure white looks unnatural in scale — it is too bright, papery, it swallows shadows and the area then looks flat and toy-like. A white shifted toward gray behaves like a real white surface in daylight: it holds volume, it takes shading, washes and dry brushing, and the result looks believable.
For modelers and figure painters who want a realistic white without the paper look. Its natural counterpart is the shade Ivory from the same range: Ivory is warmer, tuned toward yellow and cream, while White Grey is cooler, tuned toward gray. For warm interiors, ivory decoration and old fabric covering reach for Ivory; for winter camouflage, cool white surfaces and a technical-looking white, White Grey is the right choice. The two shades complement each other well — together they let you tell warm and cool white areas apart on one model.
A water-thinnable acrylic. Work in a ventilated space and use a respirator when spraying with an airbrush. Do not let the paint dry in the airbrush, and clean the tools immediately after work. Keep out of the reach of children and protect from frost.
