Self-adhesive grass tufts in autumn tones, height five millimeters, 35 pieces in the package.

The color of the season decides how a whole scene reads before the viewer even notices it. A weakened yellow, rust and faded green shift a scene into September and October and suit subjects from autumn campaigns, muddy dirt tracks and abandoned equipment growing over at the edge of a field. Compared with richly green growth, an autumn tone reads more calmly and lets the color of the machine itself stand out.
Five millimeters is a rewarding size: in 1:35 scale it corresponds to knee-high grass, which can be used along tracks, by fences and among rubble without hiding a vehicle's running gear. It is therefore neither a low lawn nor tall reeds; it lies in the middle and gets on with most of the subjects commonly built.
An irregular arrangement looks the most natural: several tufts close together, others on their own, and in places nothing at all. A tuft is lifted with tweezers and pressed onto the chosen spot, where its own adhesive base holds it. It works well to lay the whole arrangement out dry and only then peel the tufts off the film one by one, because once a clump is pressed down it is hard to move.
If some stems stick up too far, the clump can be shortened with scissors; an angled cut looks more convincing than a straight one. The autumn impression is strengthened by scattering a little crushed leaf material or fine pigment in a rusty shade among the tufts. Terrain base, model and glue are not supplied with the package.
