Tamiya X-14 Sky Blue is a modeling acrylic paint in a pot holding 23 ml. It belongs to the X line, that is, to the shades with a gloss surface. It is an ordinary opaque paint – a light sky blue that forms a continuous opaque layer on the surface. So it is not a transparent (tinting) shade of the Clear type and it is not an enamel either: this version is a water-thinnable acrylic and for the airbrush it is thinned with X-20A acrylic thinner. The enamel range with the same shade number is thinned with X-20 thinner (without the letter A) – do not confuse the thinners.
Stir the pot thoroughly before use, the pigment settles. The gloss surface the paint leaves is a good base under decals – a decal does not silver on gloss and adheres better. Once the decals have dried the whole model can be unified with a matte or semi-matte clear coat, according to the look you want. Work quickly with a brush and do not go back over a coat that has begun to set, so that the paint already applied is not dissolved.
For modelers of aircraft, of civilian and military vehicles and for builders of dioramas who are looking for a gloss opaque acrylic blue that is easy to thin with water or X-20A. Suitable for beginners and advanced builders alike.
The paint is intended for modeling use. Work in a well-ventilated space and use respiratory protection when spraying with an airbrush. Keep out of the reach of children.
