A Lifecolor paint set for the subject of the Italian railways. Matched shades for motive power, cars and the accessories of a layout.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Lifecolor paint set put together for the subject of the Italian railways. It is one of several sets of the same line, which cover the shades of motive power, cars and railroad infrastructure. The composition of the shades is stated on the box, because the sets differ within the line.
A railroad modeler deals with a different task than the builder of an aircraft. A vehicle is long, flat areas and uniform bands of color prevail on it, but it repeats itself: a train of cars belongs with the locomotive, and they have to match one another. A matched set settles this problem, because the shades hold together across a whole train. They can also be used on railroad buildings, signals and the accessories of a layout, where the same palette keeps the scene in one tone. The scale of the layout makes no difference, the set is usable from large scales down to small ones.
The flat sides of vehicles give away every unevenness, so wash the surface before painting, degrease it and rid it of dust. Spray in thin layers and rather in two goes, because a uniform area from one heavy coat easily ripples. Mask the dividing lines between the colors with masking tape laid on before spraying and pull it off while the paint is still fresh, so that the edge stays sharp. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
For railroad modelers with an interest in the Italian railways and for builders of layouts looking for a ready palette for the subject. The models, the glue and the thinner are not included, unless stated otherwise.
