Fine hexagonal rivets from the Japanese brand Top Studio, 0.6 mm in diameter and in a golden brass finish. This is not a kit but accessory detail parts that replace the flat molded bolt heads on a model with genuinely raised detail. The size in the name is the diameter of the rivet head, not the scale of the model.
Six tenths of a millimeter is one of the finest sizes in a range that starts at 0.5 mm. It comes into its own where the detail is seen from close up: the instrument panel and its covers, the center tunnel and the shift mechanism, the seat and belt mounts, small service caps and panels. The golden brass finish looks warm in an interior and also suits suggesting a material other than the steel joints around it.
The range is made in three versions, A, B and C, which differ in the shape of the rivet head. Version C is produced in both a brass and a silver finish, so the same shape can be used in two colors. The exact head shape of each version is shown on the box. The practical advice is to stay with one range on a single model so that the hardware looks consistent.
In an interior the rivet usually needs to seat exactly flush with the panel. Drill the hole square and preferably in two steps, starting with a dimple marked by the tip of a scalpel. Carry the part with fine tweezers or a moistened toothpick and count on a magnifier; without optics this size is hard to fit. Apply a truly minimal amount of glue with a wire, because any excess would flood the head and the fine hexagon would disappear.
