The kit captures the French Laffly S15 TOE armored car in its later production form. Among ground machinery, 1:100 is one of the smallest scales in use: the finished model fits in the palm of your hand, it is easy to combine into larger collections and it also suits small dioramas or board games. The number of parts and the contents of the package are stated on the box and in the enclosed instructions.
In the 1930s the French marque Laffly was among the leading makers of off-road chassis. The S15 range was built on a six-wheel layout with small auxiliary wheels that helped the vehicle cross ditches, edges and soft ground. The abbreviation TOE in the designation refers to the overseas stations of the French army, for which the armored version was intended. The vehicles were built in small batches and the individual production runs differed in the details of the armored body and the equipment, and the adjective for the late version in the name is tied to exactly this later form.
At such a small scale cleanliness of work decides everything. Remove the parts with a sharp scalpel, sand the parting lines with fine abrasive paper and degrease the model before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Apply the base color and the primer coat in thin layers so that the fine engraving is not flooded. Bring out the divisions of the body with a dark wash, pick out the edges with a dry brush and dust the underside and the wheels only lightly with pigments, because a heavy coat would make the model look optically heavier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
