A kit of the French light tank Renault R40 in its prototype form, 1:100 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Renault R40 was one of the French light infantry tanks of the late 1930s. It derived from the widespread R35 type, from which it differed mainly in new running gear with a different arrangement of wheels, which improved behavior across country. Machines of this type took part in the fighting of 1940 and today they are among the less common subjects that are often missing from collections of French equipment. The item offered captures the vehicle in its prototype form.
The 1:100 scale is the home of tabletop battles and mass scenes. A vehicle takes up only a few centimeters in it, so a whole unit can be set up on an area where in more common scales two tanks would fit. The small size also forgives slight inaccuracies, so it is a suitable start even for a modeler who is only beginning.
Wash and degrease the parts before gluing. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so as not to sand the shape away. Choose a suitable glue according to the material of the parts given in the instructions from the manufacturer, and the same goes for the order of assembly. Apply the paint in thin coats; at this scale a heavy coat quickly floods the fine surface detail.
The set will appeal to players of tabletop battles, builders of mass scenes and collectors of French interwar equipment.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
