T-S 54 Nad drahou 1:1000 is a model of a Czechoslovak heavy fortification blockhouse in a miniature scale, made by the Czech association ROP o.s. It completes the row of objects of the Trutnov sector, so the neighboring numbers can be collected as well.

A model of the blockhouse T-S 54 with the code name Nad drahou, meaning above the railway, in 1:1000 scale from the workshop of the Czech association ROP o.s. The association has long worked on objects of the Czechoslovak fortifications in several scales; the 1:1000 line is the smallest of them and is built as a collector's range. Its advantage is that the individual objects can be lined up together and an overview of a whole sector emerges from them, not just one isolated model.
The code name Nad drahou suggests where the object stood in the terrain — the names of the period were derived from landmarks in the surroundings. The number 54 marks the order of the object within the sector, the letter T the Trutnov construction sector and the S the abbreviation for a blockhouse. The blockhouses of the Czechoslovak heavy fortifications were built from the mid-1930s under the Directorate of Fortification Works as reinforced concrete structures sunk into a slope. The side embrasures pointed along the line, so that neighboring objects covered one another with fire, and the front wall facing the enemy stayed blind and protected by an earth bank. The defense never came — after the Munich Agreement in 1938 the objects were cleared.
A small model needs fine tools and a calm approach: tweezers, a sharp scalpel and a magnifier or good light. Do not make the concrete gray tending to blue, but rather a warm gray-beige; at this size a lighter shade is more plausible. Bring out the recesses with a thin dark wash and let it flow into the embrasures. If you are going to set the model on a base, suggest the earth bank with modeling compound before you start on the grass — the transition from concrete into the terrain is the detail that makes the greatest impression on a fortification.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
