A set of die-cut self-adhesive masks, Peewit 1:144 Bell P-39D, P-39F and P-39K Airacobra, for the small cockpit glazing. A modeling accessory, not a kit.

Die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Peewit for models of the Bell Airacobra fighter in the P-39D, P-39F and P-39K versions in 1:144 scale. The set covers the glazed areas of the cockpit during spraying, so that the framing comes out sharp even on a very small part. It is not a kit but an accessory for the build.
The masks are cut from thin low-tack kabuki-type masking tape. The material is pliable, holds even on miniature areas and, if taken off gently, as a rule leaves no glue. The pieces are lifted off the backing with tweezers or with the dampened tip of a toothpick.
In 1:144 scale the whole canopy measures only a few millimeters and the individual frames are thinner than a brush hair. Drawing them out by hand is practically impossible, and yet the cockpit is the first thing anyone notices on a finished model. The Airacobra moreover has an unconventional arrangement of entry to the cockpit through car-type doors with windows, so the glazing continues along the sides of the fuselage and the framing is all the more intricate.
Work under a magnifier or with a desk lamp with a magnifier and lay the masks down with dry, fine-tipped tweezers. Spray the interior shade first, then the camouflage. Seal the edge of the mask with a thin coat of varnish. In this scale choose a lower pressure and a smaller amount of paint, so that the engraving does not clog and the frames do not coarsen.
The package contains only masks. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
