An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese firm Hasegawa in 1:24 scale. It treats the competition configuration of the Nissan Pulsar GTI-R with the internal designation RNN14 in its form from the Acropolis Rally of 1991. From the civil version, which the manufacturer issues separately, the competition kit differs in modifications matching a world championship entry.
The Pulsar GTI-R came about as a homologation special for Group A. Into the small hatchback body Nissan built a turbocharged four-cylinder engine of two liters' displacement and all-wheel drive, which made the car one of the sharpest Japanese production models of the beginning of the 1990s. Its recognition mark is the massive air intake in the hood, which brings air to the intercooler mounted above the engine. In the world championship the car appeared in the 1991 and 1992 seasons and ran on the stages of the Acropolis Rally too, that is, on the stony Greek gravel that is among the hardest events of the calendar.
A competition car stands or falls with its decals. Lay them only on a glossy base, use a softener and let them dry thoroughly before you seal the surface with a covering varnish. Sand the body down first and give it a primer. Pay particular attention to the shape of the air intake in the hood, because it is the most prominent feature of the whole car. The interior of the competition configuration is restrained, and matte shades and a fine emphasis on the belts and the cage work well in it. If you want to dust the car down after a gravel event, use pigments sparingly and concentrate them around the sills, the wheel arches and the lower part of the body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
