A resin figure set from the South Korean maker DEF Model in 1:35 scale. The set depicts fallen soldiers of the Chinese and North Korean armies from the Korean War, the turn of 1950 and 1951. These are cast resin parts for more experienced modelers; the set is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The figures are treated soberly and factually, as an addition to a wartime diorama that gives the scene its period situation and its scale. They serve to round out the setting of the Korean winter battlefield; they are meant as a historical modeling element, not as dramatization for its own sake.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and true the joints up. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and fill the seams. Apply a primer before painting, build the uniforms up by layering acrylics or oils, and finish the surface with muted winter tones and light soiling. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
