1:144 Boeing 307 Stratoliner

Peewit painting masks Boeing 307 Stratoliner 1:144

A set of self-adhesive masking templates from the Czech manufacturer Peewit for a clean spray job on the glazing of a model of the Boeing 307 Stratoliner in 1:144 scale. It covers both the cockpit frames and the row of fuselage windows, so masking the whole aircraft saves a great deal of work with tweezers and tape.

What the masks are for

The masks define sharp transitions between the glazing and the color of the fuselage. On an airliner with many windows, masking by hand is slow, so pre-shaped templates speed the work up markedly and make the size of the windows consistent. The material holds even on a rounded fuselage and lifts without residue after spraying.

Usage tips

• Degrease the glazing and rid it of dust before applying.
• Lay each mask on with tweezers and press it down so that it seats exactly on the window.
• Spray the paint in thin coats, because of the risk of it running underneath.
• Remove the masks while the finish is freshly dry.

Who the set is for

• Builders of civil and transport aircraft in small scale.
• Modelers who want consistent windows with no tape cutting.
• Collectors of prewar aviation classics.

This is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
