Brengun Dassault Mirage Ladder 1:144 is a photo-etched boarding ladder for a model of the Mirage aircraft. It is a ground accessory, not a kit of an aircraft.

An accessory of the Czech brand Brengun in the form of a photo-etched sheet from which a boarding ladder for a model of the Dassault Mirage fighter aircraft in 1:144 scale is put together. The package contains only thin sheet metal, no model of the aircraft. On aircraft with a high-set cockpit the ladder is hooked over the edge of the fuselage and serves the crew and the ground personnel alike - on a displayed model it is a small thing that immediately gives away that the aircraft is standing on the ground and being attended to.
In 1:144 scale a model of an aircraft is small and monotonous by itself. Adding a ladder, chocks under the wheels or an open bay cover immediately creates action and increases the perceived size of the whole scene. Photo-etched metal is the ideal material for such a fine structure: in metal the rungs and the sides of the ladder have a thickness that corresponds to the scale, whereas in plastic they would have to be several times thicker.
Work over a light mat with a raised edge - a part of this size is hard to find. Separate the pieces with a scalpel, make the bends along the scored lines and use flat tweezers to hold them. Degrease the metal with spirit before building, spray a thin primer on after assembly and only then paint; on smooth photo-etched metal without a base the paint rubs off at the first handling. A tiny drop of cyanoacrylate applied with the tip of a needle is enough to join them. Hook the finished ladder onto the model only at the very end, after the decals have been applied and the matte clear sprayed.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. A model of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
