A masking set for the model of the Japanese Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa fighter in 1:144 scale. According to the name the package holds two masks.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa was the main fighter of the Japanese Army Air Force in the Second World War. The Allies used the code name Oscar for it. It was light, agile and not very large, which tells to the full in 1:144 scale: a finished model fits in the palm of your hand and every inaccurate sprayed edge shows on it at once.
According to the name the set holds two masks, which in this scale matches the convention that kits are sold as two models in a box. What the individual elements cover exactly is given in the enclosed instructions, so lay them out beside the model before you reach for the paint. The elements are genuinely tiny in this scale, so have fine-tipped tweezers and good light ready for the work.
A mask is applied to a clean, dry surface before spraying, not after. Lift the element off with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, lay it in place and press it down with a soft tool from the center to the edges so that no air is left underneath. Press the edges down thoroughly, because that is exactly where paint runs under. Spray in thin coats and from the edge of the mask inwards. Lift the mask while the paint is freshly dry; on a fully cured finish the edge already takes the sprayed coat with it.
For the modeler who builds small scales and does not want to draw sharp edges with a brush or cut them from tape. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
