1:16 Resin Turnbuckles Type C are resin turnbuckles for bracing wires from GasPatch models, intended for biplane models in the large 1:16 scale.

This is not an aircraft model but a set of small accessories. Turnbuckles are the fittings with which the bracing wires between the wings and the fuselage were tensioned on real aircraft. On a model they replace simplified plastic imitations or plain wire and give the bracing a convincing look. The set is cast in resin and intended for the large 1:16 scale, where every such detail is clearly visible.
Biplanes and early aircraft with external bracing carry a system of wires between the lifting surfaces that transfer the loads. At the ends of the wires sit the turnbuckles, with which the bracing could be tensioned and adjusted. The manufacturer offers several shape variants marked with letters; this is type C. Before buying, therefore, compare the shape of the part with the subject you are building, so that the turnbuckle matches the given aircraft and its maker.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of any mold release agent residue, otherwise paint will not hold on them. Cut them off the casting block with a sharp scalpel and clean the cut up with a file. The turnbuckles are bonded with super glue, ideally a gel one, which gives you time to align them. Run the wire as an elastic thread or a thin wire; elastic thread forgives small inaccuracies and will not snap while the model is handled. For painting, a dark metallic shade from the airbrush with subsequent light edge highlighting does the job; when sanding resin, work wet and protect your breathing.
The package contains resin parts only. Wires, glue, paints and the model are not included. The parts are very small and do not belong in the hands of small children.
