A photo-etched brass detail set from Aber in 1:16 scale for the Soviet KV-1 or KV-2 heavy tank. The set adds fine photo-etched parts (covers, brackets and other exterior elements) to a model and replaces the coarser plastic parts. It is an accessory, not a tank kit.
The KV-1 and KV-2 were Soviet heavy tanks of the start of the Second World War, named after Kliment Voroshilov. The KV-1 carried a 76 mm gun, while the more massive KV-2 had a tall turret with a 152 mm howitzer. Both vehicles were famed for heavy armor that at first stood up to most antitank weapons.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret, make the bends on a photo-etch bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer; an airbrush is recommended, followed by washes and pigments for faithful weathering.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The kit of the tank, glues and paints are not included in the package.
