The F150 Formula car in 1:20 scale with bonus red paint is a collector's set from MSM Creation intended for advanced builders of Formula models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set covers the Formula 1 car designated F150 in 1:20 scale and, according to the name, the manufacturer adds a bonus red paint in the shade of the car, so there is no need to hunt for the right tone in another paint brand. MSM Creation specializes in models and accessories for Formula cars at a premium level of execution, which matches the standing of the set. The exact contents of the package and the extent of the parts are stated on the box.
The designation F150 belongs to the Ferrari team's car for the 2011 season. It was one of the last generations of Formula 1 cars powered by a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter V8, when the rules newly permitted a brake energy recovery system and an adjustable rear wing to make overtaking easier. The aerodynamics of that era rested on intricate front wings, prominent sidepods and a finely shaped underbody, so the car offers a wealth of rewarding detail in a larger scale.
A Formula car stands or falls by its paint. First clear the body of grease, lay down a filler primer and remove even small irregularities by sanding between coats, because a rich red will emphasize every flaw. Apply the paint in thin coats with enough time between them to flash off. The decals are laid over a gloss undercoat; once dry, clear coat them and finally polish the surface. Fit the suspension and the exhaust systems step by step according to the instructions and keep checking that the car stands on all four wheels in the same plane. In larger scales it pays to try the fit of the body on the frame dry beforehand.
The set is supplied unassembled. Glue and further paints beyond the enclosed one are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
