An injection-molded plastic kit of the exceptional Japanese supercar Lexus LFA in 1:24 scale from the manufacturer Tamiya. This is a carefully worked model with rich detail: the hood opens and reveals the V10 engine, the grilles are done as photo-etched parts, and the rear wing can be assembled either raised or retracted. The package contains plated parts and metal transfers for faithful mirror surfaces. The assembled model is roughly 19 cm long.
The Lexus LFA came about as the flagship project of the brand, with the aim of building a supercar of world standard. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.8 liter V10 mounted at the front with the gearbox placed at the rear (a transaxle) for a balanced weight distribution. The body and a number of the parts use carbon composites and an aerodynamically clean shape. The LFA was built only in limited numbers, which makes it a collector legend of the Japanese car industry.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish the engine bay and the interior and paint them before you close them up. Apply a primer before painting and apply the paints with an airbrush; a gloss clear coat and discreet polishing will refine the body. Apply the photo-etched grilles and the metal transfers only onto finished painted surfaces, and the transfers over a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
