An injection-molded plastic kit of the road-going supercar in 1:24 scale from Tamiya, a maker famous for the precise fit of its parts. The body faithfully captures the elegant lines of the Porsche Carrera GT. The rear engine cover can be built to open and reveal the well-detailed engine bay even after the model is finished. The box holds plastic parts, rubber tires, decals and metal transfers for the mirrors and the Porsche badge, which lift the final effect.
The Porsche Carrera GT was shown as a concept at the turn of the millennium and reached the market in the middle of the first decade of the 2000s as the maker's flagship road supercar. It was powered by a potent V10, the body stood on a carbon fiber monocoque and the suspension used racing solutions. The combination of extreme performance, low weight and unmistakable design made the Carrera GT one of the most sought-after collector Porsches.
Smooth the body first and spray it with a good primer; apply the color in thin coats with an airbrush, then lay on a clear coat for deep gloss and polish it out. Glue the glazing with adhesive for clear parts so that it does not fog. Bring the interior to life with contrasting materials, and leave the chrome parts and the metal transfers until last. The engine bay under the openable cover deserves careful accenting of the details and discreet shading.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
