Bracing wire turnbuckles of the British type in 1:24 scale from GasPatch models

This is not an aircraft kit, but an accessory for a kit of your own. The package contains one hundred and five resin bracing wire turnbuckles in the form used on British aircraft, in 1:24 scale. The higher number of pieces matters here: the rigging of a single biplane swallows several dozen fittings, and during the build one piece or another always gets lost or damaged.

The British fitting and its shape

British aviation practice had its own type of turnbuckle, which differed in shape from continental solutions. The set matches this British form without being tied to one particular machine - the same fitting appeared on a number of British biplanes of the First World War.

Building recommendation

One hundred and five pieces means you can afford to sacrifice a few parts for a trial. Try the whole procedure on one turnbuckle: washing in lukewarm soapy water, cutting the casting block off with a new blade, leveling it wet and with respiratory protection, threading the wire and finally gluing with cyanoacrylate glue. Once you have the procedure in hand, start on the model. Paint the turnbuckles in batches before fitting them, ideally with an airbrush over the small parts laid out on double-sided tape.
