The package is not an aircraft kit but an accessory with which you improve your own kit. It contains fifty resin turnbuckles for bracing wires for 1:24 scale. The designation Type B refers to one of the forms that the manufacturer offers in this range; when choosing, go by the shape of the fitting on the subject you are building.
On biplanes this was not decoration. The wings were joined by struts and between them ran a system of steel wires that carried the loads and held the geometry of the flying surfaces. The turnbuckle was the fitting with which a wire was tensioned. On a model in a large scale the difference between a thread led through a turnbuckle and a thread stretched straight is therefore very noticeable, even from the ordinary viewing distance in a cabinet.
The turnbuckles are fitted at the end of the build, but they have to be prepared earlier. First lay out on a drawing or a sketch where the wires will run and drill the points into the parts while they are still unassembled. Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry thoroughly — paint cracks on a greasy surface. Cut the casting blocks off, level the surface and then paint the small parts while they are still on a stick, as long as they can be handled. Only glue the painted turnbuckles on with cyanoacrylate glue, so that paint does not get into the eye.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as separate resin parts. The kit, the wire, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
