An unassembled injection-molded plastic kit of an off-road vehicle in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The boxing is tied to the JA71-JCU form and, against the basic release of the same vehicle, it adds a modified front grille part. It is precisely this element that sets the box apart from the other Jimny releases from the same manufacturer.
The JA71 generation Jimny appeared in the second half of the 1980s and stayed true to the brand's recipe: a very small off-road vehicle on a ladder frame, with live axles and part-time four-wheel drive. It fell into the Japanese category of the smallest vehicles, so its external dimensions and engine capacity were strictly limited, yet it coped off road thanks to its low weight and short overhangs. An enclosed body with a hard top made it a usable year-round vehicle. The JCU form is one of the designations of the equipment and body variants of this series.
An off-road vehicle will take more than a polished finish. Sand the body, apply a primer and spray with an airbrush, but then consider whether to leave the model new or to add fine weathering. Dust and mud on the fenders and in the wheel arches do a great deal: use dark washes and dry pigments applied with a brush, gently and in layers. Paint the bumpers, the frame and the underside matte black or dark gray. Finish the modified front grille separately, as it is the focal element of the whole model. Glue the glazing with a glue for clear plastic.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
