A plastic kit of the first-generation Toyota MR2, the AW11, in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. The model carries the designation High Geared and the name Makoto Tojo after the series Yoroshiku Mecha-doc — the Japanese tuning manga of the 1980s on which this Fujimi edition is based.
The AW11 generation of the MR2 from the middle of the 1980s was the first Japanese production car with a mid-mounted engine. The light, boxy coupe with a 1.6-liter engine behind the seats offered the handling of a small supercar at an attainable level and to this day ranks among the most popular youngtimers. The wedge-shaped design with pop-up headlights is a textbook example of 1980s styling, and thanks to its compact dimensions the model looks great even next to larger cars in the display case.
The boxy body paints and masks up well — a primer, light coats of paint and a final gloss clear coat will give a clean result. The black plastic trim and the bumpers come out well in matte or satin black, and the contrast with the body is typical of the AW11. Pick the interior out in matte shades and the small details with a brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
