This product is not a kit and not a finished model but a photo-etched metal set meant for detailing finished models of the German Sd.Kfz.173 Jagdpanther tank destroyer. It replaces the coarse plastic grilles on the engine deck with fine etched mesh that faithfully imitates the cooling and ventilation openings above the engine and the radiators.
Photo-etched grilles give the engine deck a fineness and depth in scale that molded plastic parts never have. Through the fine mesh you can also see inside, which markedly raises the realism of the upper part of the hull. The set is intended for models of the Jagdpanther tank destroyer in 1:25 scale.
The parts are separated with a sharp knife, shaped over an edge with tweezers if need be, and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting it is worth degreasing the metal and spraying it with a primer for metal. Once varnished, the grilles benefit from washes and pigments that bring out the recesses.
It is supplied as a separate photo-etched accessory. Glue, paints and the target model are not included in the package.
