Aviattic 1:28 four-color lozenge pattern for lower surfaces (faded) — a decal sheet with full-width printing of the German polygon camouflage from the First World War in faded shades.
Responsibility details are not available.
This decal sheet from the manufacturer Aviattic carries full-width printing of the German polygon camouflage from the First World War, made for the lower surfaces of aircraft models in 1:28 scale. It is the faded variant — the shades are deliberately faded and imitate fabric that has already been through front-line service, weather and sunlight.
From 1916 the German air service had aircraft fabric printed with a regular polygon pattern directly in the textile mills. The printing replaced applying camouflage by hand, saved weight and time, and a multicolored field of small polygons broke up the outline of an aircraft optically. The four-color variant is among the most widespread; a lighter series of shades was used for the lower surfaces than for the upper ones.
Cover large areas in sections: cut the sheet up according to the individual panels of the covering, work on a gloss base and use a softener so that the decal lies down perfectly to the surface. Prick any bubbles and press them down again; once dry, clear coat with a matte or satin varnish according to the finish you want.
A decal sheet is an add-on — the model, glue and varnishes are not included in the package.
