1:32 Douglas A-26C Invader is an Eduard masking set with pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the model. It is not a kit but an aid for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a large model of the twin-engine A-26 Invader in the C version in 1:32 scale. The package does not contain a model — in it are sheets of masks of thin kabuki type masking tape, with which you cover the glazing and other areas that are to stay clear before spraying. The maker is the Czech firm Eduard.
The Douglas A-26 Invader was an American twin-engine attack aircraft. The C version differs from the B version in its nose: it has a glazed nose with a bombardier's station instead of a solid, unglazed one. On the model, therefore, another large glazed area is added beside the pilot's cockpit and the two gun turrets, so masking is considerably more laborious on this version.
In the large 1:32 scale every inaccuracy in the width of a frame is clearly visible. The pre-cut masks follow the shape of the individual panes, so the paint edge comes out sharp and the frames stay even. Kabuki tape holds firmly, leaves a minimum of adhesive and does not lift paint when removed. Degrease the glazing first and let it dry. Lift the mask out of the sheet with a scalpel or tweezers, lay it on dry and press it down all the way round with a wooden stick. Apply the paint in thin coats and remove the masks as soon as the coat is dry to the touch.
In the package is masking material only — the kit, paints and glue are not part of it. The masks are cut to the specific shape of the glazing, so check before buying that they match the kit you are building.
