Wheels for the F-104G Starfighter with flattening under load and with optional nose wheels in 1:32 scale is a resin accessory set from the Armory brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is an accessory, not a kit of the aircraft. It contains wheels cast in resin, shaped with deformation of the tire where it touches the ground, and according to the name it also offers an optional form of the nose wheels. The manufacturer is Armory. How many parts the package contains and exactly which nose wheel variants it offers are not stated here.
Sets with alternative parts are convenient, but they call for one extra step. Before you glue anything on, go through the references for the particular machine you are building and decide which nose wheel matches. The F-104 served with a number of operators and over a long span of time, so the landing gear details were not the same on every machine. Also dry-fit the optional parts in the landing gear leg before you reach for the glue. Cyanoacrylate sets quickly and putting it right already means cutting.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let them dry. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surface on sanding paper laid on a flat board. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. Fit the wheel so that the settled part of the tire faces down toward the base, and stand the finished model on glass so that you know it stands straight. Paint over primer in thin coats. The hub is most easily handled with a brush or through a circular mask once the tire has been sprayed.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
