Eduard 1:32 F6F-5N gun bay - photo-etched set

A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:32 scale meant for detailing the gun bay of the F6F-5N Hellcat carrier-based night fighter. It is not an airplane model but an accessory fitted on a plastic kit, which refines the inner structure of the bay for the aircraft's guns and makes it possible to show it open.

The real subject

The F6F-5N Hellcat is an American carrier-based fighter of the Second World War; the -5N version was a night fighter fitted with radar. The gun bay holds the aircraft's machine guns in the wing, and showing it open brings a model to life in an interesting way.

Use and fitting

• The opening of the gun bay is cut in the wing and cleaned up according to the set.
• The photo-etched parts are formed in a bending tool along the etched lines.
• They are glued with super glue applied in a small amount.
• Degrease the brass and prime it with a base for metal before painting.

Who it is for

• Advanced modelers who want an exposed gun bay.
• Builders of the large 1:32 scale.

This is an add-on photo-etched set. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
