Flexible Ammo Belts .50 caliber 1:32 are flexible castings of ammunition belts for detailing the gun bays and interiors of models. It is not a kit but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains .50 caliber ammunition belts, that is 12.7 mm, in 1:32 scale, made as flexible castings. Flexibility is the point here: the belt can be bent into a natural sag, twisted into an ammunition box or led around an obstacle just as it looks on a real aircraft. A rigid plastic part from the box allows no such routing. It is not an airplane kit and not a model in its own right, but an accessory for detailing open gun bays, gun positions and interiors.
The .50 caliber was part of the basic machine gun armament of Second World War aircraft, and belts of ammunition are clearly visible at an open gun bay or a flexible machine gun. The set also suits a diorama, where the belt is led to an ammunition box or across a mount, and equally well figure scenes beside equipment. The individual lengths can be shortened as needed, so you use only as much belt as shows on the model.
Wash the material in lukewarm soapy water, so that no mold release agent is left on the surface. The belt is divided with a sharp blade, best on a hard surface, and shaped carefully in small steps: a sharp bend can damage the joints between the links. It is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate, a drop at a time at the fixing points. For painting: a dark metallic base, a brass or copper shade on the cases and a weak dark wash into the gaps between the links. Do not lay on a heavy coat of paint, or the structure would be lost.
This is an accessory, not a complete kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
