Beaufort Mk.I bomb bay 1:48 is a photo-etched set from Eduard for adding detail to the bomb bay of a model of the British Bristol Beaufort Mk.I torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts focused on the bomb bay of a model of the British twin-engine torpedo bomber Bristol Beaufort Mk.I in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory that turns an open bomb bay into a realistic, three-dimensionally structured space. The Beaufort was the backbone of RAF Coastal Command in the early period of the Second World War.
The photo-etched parts add detail to the internal structure of the bomb bay: the lattice stiffeners, the ribs, the bomb shackles and carriers and other elements that cannot be injection-molded in plastic at a matching fineness. An open and carefully worked-out bomb bay is one of those striking features that draw attention to a finished model.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and bend them in a photo-etch bending tool. Glue with a small amount of cyanoacrylate; on larger areas a slower-setting epoxy helps. It is best to finish and paint the bomb bay before the fuselage is closed up, because after that it is hard to reach.
This is an accessory set, not a model. The base kit, glue, paints and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
