HGW 1:32 Fokker E.I – the Oberursel U.0 engine is a brass photo-etched set for a detailed rendering of the rotary engine of a model of the German monoplane Fokker E.I. It is not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A brass photo-etched set in 1:32 scale from the Czech maker HGW aimed at drawing out the Oberursel U.0 rotary engine of a model of the German fighter monoplane Fokker E.I. It holds fine photo-etched parts of the engine and of its installation, which replace or complete the coarser plastic elements of the kit. The set is NOT an airplane model on its own.
The Fokker E.I was the first version of the series of Eindecker fighter monoplanes. It was powered by the Oberursel U.0 rotary engine of around 80 horsepower and it carried a single synchronized machine gun firing through the propeller disc. It was one of the first true fighter aircraft and it opened the period of German air superiority of 1915.
Separate the fine parts with a sharp knife and shape them with a bender. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. It is best to assemble and paint the rotary engine before it is built in; a darker wash into the recesses will bring out the metallic look and the shades of the cylinders.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
