Responsibility details are not available.
A set of die-cut self-adhesive stencils intended for spray painting a model of the British Gloster Gladiator biplane in 1:32 scale. It is neither a kit nor a set of canopy masks, but an aid for painting that replaces an applied decal with a sprayed area. The set forms the second part of a series issued in installments. The set is intended for the ICM kit.
The success of a spray stencil stands or falls on the surface beneath it. The paint under the mask has to be fully cured, not merely dry to the touch, otherwise it will peel when the mask is removed. A smooth, slightly glossy surface is ideal, because paint creeps under the edge more easily on a rough matte one. Degrease the area before applying the stencil and run a soft tip around its whole perimeter once it is in place. In the large 1:32 scale patience pays off even along long straight edges, where the adhesive film likes to lift slightly.
The Gloster Gladiator was the last British fighter biplane taken into service and a transitional type between the interwar and the modern fighter generation. It had an enclosed cockpit, a radial engine and a metal structure with mostly fabric covering. Besides the Royal Air Force it was used by a number of other countries, so a wide range of color schemes exists.
The set is a painting accessory, not a kit. The ICM base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
