Replacement exhaust nozzles in the closed position for a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat fighter in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Replacement exhaust nozzles for an F-14A Tomcat model in 1:32 scale, done in the closed position. The kit nozzle tends to be split for manufacturing reasons and its wall comes out thick, whereas a replacement part is as a rule in one piece, has a thinner edge and a well-worked interior that can be seen clearly in this scale. The closed position matches a machine with its engines shut down or at low power, that is typically an aircraft parked on a deck or on the apron. The scope of the parts and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing that pivots in flight according to speed. The A version is the first production form of the type. The rear end of the aircraft is made up of two engine nacelles set far apart and the flat center section between them, so the nozzles are strikingly visible on a finished model and their execution tells.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic will not join them; use cyanoacrylate in a small drop. Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that the shape is not spoiled. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on the surface. The particular procedure for preparing and seating them is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
