Marlin M1918 Late Type 1:32 (pair) is a resin modeling accessory from GasPatch models — two late-version aircraft machine guns for models in 1:32 scale.

This item is not an aircraft kit. It is an aftermarket accessory from the Greek brand GasPatch models: a pair of separate Marlin M1918 machine guns in the late version, in 1:32 scale and cast in resin. The Late Type designation tells the set apart from the early M1917 version, which the manufacturer offers separately. The two versions differ in the shape of the barrel and its jacket, so it pays to pick the one that matches the subject you are building.
The Marlin M1918 is an American 7.62 mm air-cooled aircraft machine gun with gas taken from the barrel. It follows on from the earlier M1917 and represents its revised, simpler-to-produce form. The gun was mounted rigidly in the airplane and fired forward through the propeller arc with a gun synchronizing gear. The description stays with the technical side of the design.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water: paint would not hold on any mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a fresh blade, never snap them off by twisting; resin is hard and brittle. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), as plastic cement does not work on resin. Lay the paint on in thin coats so the fine texture does not get clogged: a primer, a dark steel shade, a careful dry brush along the edges and a dark wash in the recesses around the breech and the barrel jacket.
This is a modeling accessory, not a complete kit. The parts are supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
