The 1:32 North American F-100F Super Sabre interior photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard brings detail into the cockpit of the model that injection-molded plastic cannot capture.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set aimed at the cockpit interior of the 1:32 two-seat Super Sabre model. The manufacturer is the Czech company Eduard. Interior etched sets typically deal with instrument panels, side consoles and the small details that plastic either does not reproduce at all or renders too softly. In 1:32 the cockpit is large and with the canopy open practically all of it is visible, so an investment in detail pays off immediately.
The F-100F Super Sabre is the two-seat version with the crew seated in tandem. The cockpit matches 1950s technology: mechanical instruments with round dials, levers and switches on the side consoles, and ejection seats. It is exactly this density of small elements that makes the interior the most rewarding place for photo-etched parts.
Smooth metal will not hold paint on its own. First degrease the parts with alcohol and do not touch them with bare fingers, then apply a thin coat of primer, ideally sprayed, because a brush leaves pools in the fine engraving. Next comes the base cockpit shade, sprayed as thinly as possible so that the relief of the etching does not disappear. The dials and lettering are brought out with a dark wash, which is wiped off with a cotton bud across the detail once it has set. A matte varnish finishes the job. If the set contains parts with printed color, neither primer nor base shade is applied to them: only the bare metal parts get painted.
The package contains add-on parts only. The kit itself, glues and paints are not included, unless stated otherwise.
