The photo-etched set R.F.C. Lewis / Vickers Guns in 1:32 scale from HGW brings fine brass parts for a faithful rendering of the British aircraft machine guns Lewis and Vickers.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT an airplane model but a brass photo-etched set of accessories in 1:32 scale. It holds parts for a detailed rendering of the British aircraft machine guns Lewis and Vickers, with which the machines of the Royal Flying Corps were armed in the First World War. Photo-etch replaces coarse plastic castings with fine elements such as barrel cooling jackets, sights and mounting parts.
The Lewis was a light machine gun with a drum magazine, used mostly as the observer's movable weapon. The Vickers was a belt-fed synchronized machine gun firing forwards through the propeller disc. Both weapons made up the backbone of the armament of British aircraft at the end of the war.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife and make the bends over the etched scored lines with a bender or two razor blades. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease them before painting. Recommended for more experienced modelers with experience of photo-etch.
This is an accessory for raising the level of detail of a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
