A comprehensive detail set for the Sopwith Triplane in 1:32 scale: laser cut belts, photo-etched parts, a mask and a decal with a light wood grain.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sopwith Triplane entered service in the spring of 1917 with squadrons of the Royal Naval Air Service and earned respect at once. Three narrow lifting surfaces one above the other gave the machine a rate of climb and an agility the biplanes of the day did not have, and the narrow chord of the wing at the same time meant an unusually good view downward. It became most famous with the Canadian so-called Black Flight of Raymond Collishaw. The impression it made on the enemy was so strong that German firms immediately started triplane programs of their own; the best known of them resulted in the Fokker Dr.I.
This is four partial assemblies in one package: laser cut seat belts, a photo-etched set, a mask and a decal with a light wood grain. The set is built for the kit from Wingnut Wings; the model of the aircraft itself is not part of it.
On an aircraft from the period of the First World War the result is decided by precisely what the set deals with: fabric belts with their hardware, the small fittings of the cockpit and the grain of the wooden structure. Wood is the hardest of these to imitate with a brush, and a decal solves it evenly and without streaks.
The cockpit and the photo-etched parts are worked first, only then come the surfaces with wood grain, and finally the masking of the transparencies. The belts are fitted after the seat is finished, so that they are not crushed during handling.
