1:32 Spitfire Mk.V - RAAF squadrons is a decal sheet from DK Decals for the large 1:32 scale. It is devoted to Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V machines in the markings of Australian squadrons.

The sheet is an accessory for a kit, not a model. It is printed for 1:32 scale and has its theme defined by a combination of a particular version of the aircraft, the Spitfire Mk.V, and its user, the squadrons of the Royal Australian Air Force. The number of schemes, the extent of the additional lettering and the presence of national insignia are stated on the box of the sheet.
The Spitfire Mk.V was the most numerously built version of the type, with a Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 series engine and with several wing standards differing in armament. Machines deployed outside the European climate were often distinguished by a tropical filter under the nose, which is immediately recognizable on a model; some of the aircraft also flew with clipped wingtips. Australian squadrons used Spitfire Mk.Vs above all in the defense of the north of the continent and their markings differed in details from British practice, which is exactly why such a sheet is bought, since the decals packed with kits as a rule cover other users.
In 1:32 it is the preparation of the base that decides. The camouflage has to be dry and covered with gloss clear coat, otherwise silvering appears that is unmissable over a large area. Let large decals slide off the paper straight onto the model and position them with a wet brush rather than with tweezers. Blot the excess water with soft paper from the center outward so that no air is left under the film. Align the code letters across the fuselage at the same height on both sides, using a panel line as a guide. Dose the decal softener repeatedly in small amounts and let it work on its own. Once dry, seal the decals with clear coat, and only then pick out the lines and choose the final degree of sheen.
