A masking set for a model of the British Spitfire Mk.Vb fighter in 1:32 scale, intended for the kit from Hasegawa.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk.Vb was one of the most widespread variants of the British fighter of the Second World War. It served with Royal Air Force squadrons and with Allied units, and it was reworked for combat at both low and high altitudes. The B type wing that the letter in the designation refers to carried two 20 mm cannons and four machine guns.
A masking set for the Spitfire Mk.Vb in 1:32 scale, intended for the kit from Hasegawa. The extent of the masking and the placement of the individual parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them also when deciding which part comes first. Leave the unused parts on the backing so that they do not pick up dust.
Wash and degrease the surface of the model before the masks go on, so that they hold and do not let paint under. Apply them before spraying and press the edges down all the way round. Lay the paint on in thin coats; a heavy coat leaves a ridge at the edge of the mask that stays visible once it is lifted. Take the masks off while the paint is only dry to the touch and pull them back at an angle over themselves. A slight overrun can be put right with a fine brush afterwards.
The set saves time for anyone who does not want to mask with hand-cut tape, and it suits modelers with less practice too, because the boundaries between color areas come out crisp at the first attempt. Tweezers and a sharp point are all you need. The kit, paints, glue and thinner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
