1:32 Westland Lynx HAS.3 is a set of 3D textured instrument panels from Red Fox Studio on decal paper for the cockpit of the helicopter model in 1:32 scale. The panels are prepared for the Revell kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set gives the pilot's compartment of the model colored instruments with printed relief. The elements are on decal paper: they are soaked off in water, settled onto a smooth varnished base and, once dry, look like gauges seated in their bezels. Nothing is glued with cyanoacrylate and nothing is sanded. The dimensions of the panels correspond to the cockpit of the Revell kit.
A helicopter cockpit is handled differently from a fighter one. The pilots sit side by side rather than one behind the other, so the instrument panel is wide and divided symmetrically into two halves with their own flight instruments. Between the seats there is a tall center console with the communication and system controls, and further controls are overhead and on the floor. The naval version of the anti-submarine Lynx also has equipment tied to its role, so the panel is not identical with the land-based versions. The main difference from aircraft, though, is in visibility: the glazing of the cockpit is enormous, it reaches down below the pilots' feet, and the doors are often slid open, so the interior is visible from the side, from above and from below. An unfinished panel cannot be hidden here.
Reckon with many smaller elements instead of one large panel. Soak them one at a time, always only at the moment when you have the place for that piece ready, otherwise they will cool on the paper and stick together. Seat the side halves of the panel first and the center console last - that is where you most often run into an edge and you need clear space around it for the brush. Apply decal softener to the vertical surfaces of the console sparingly and from the edges, so that the film does not slide down the wet varnish; test the strength of the product on an offcut. No air must get under the instruments, so draw the surplus water off with a swab from the center. Leave the dried elements alone overnight and only then close the cockpit up.
This is a modeling accessory, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check in advance that it matches your kit.
