This injection-molded plastic kit captures the Italian 3Ro heavy truck in the form in which it served with German units during the Second World War. It is made by the Polish firm IBG Models, which has long specialized in military wheeled vehicles.
The Lancia 3Ro was among the most widespread heavy trucks of the Italian army in the Second World War. The rugged vehicle with a diesel engine proved itself carrying supplies and towing guns, and it served in all the Italian theaters including North Africa. After the Italian capitulation in September 1943 the German army took over large numbers of these vehicles, which it deployed mainly in Italy and the Balkans until the end of the war - and it is exactly this period that this kit captures.
Start the build with the frame, the drivetrain and the axles; it is practical to paint the cab and the cargo body separately and join them only at the end. Separate the small parts with a sharp modeling blade and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Apply the base coat over primer, ideally with an airbrush; the patina is best caught by brown washes, dust pigments on the chassis and fine scuffs on the edges of the body, which match the vehicle's hard service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
