The set is not a standalone model but an accessory meant to be fitted to a matching plastic kit of the four-wheeled MRAP-category armored vehicle of the MaxxPro type. The fine metal parts replace the coarser plastic elements and add details that are missing. The photo-etch is designed for the Kinetic MRAP kit in 1:35 scale.
MRAP is the designation for American armored vehicles resistant to mines and improvised explosive devices. The MaxxPro type stands out for a high hull with V-shaped armor that deflects the blast wave of an explosion. Vehicles of this kind protected their crews during the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and make the bends along the etched score lines with a bending tool. Use super glue to bond the metal, and before painting degrease it and go over it with a primer for metal. The grilles, the stowage baskets and the tie-down loops show at their best once brought out with a wash and dust pigments.
This is an add-on photo-etched set. The base Kinetic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
