Turned barrel for the Panther Ausf. A in 1:35 scale from Aber, with a muzzle brake. A kit accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal 7.5 cm barrel in 1:35 scale intended for a model of the German Panther tank in the Ausf. A version, including the muzzle brake. It is not a kit but a replacement for the plastic part. The manufacturer lists several barrels for the Panther according to version, so check which machine you are building, to avoid picking up a barrel for a different variant.
The Ausf. A version was the second production form of the Panther. Compared with the early machines it received a new turret with a modified commander's cupola and a machine gun in the front armor plate, while the hull stayed essentially the same. The 7.5 cm gun with its long barrel was unchanged and ranks among the most powerful weapons of its caliber to appear during the war.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the turret as possible and drill the seating so that the pin of the metal barrel sits firmly without passing right through. Degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. It is bonded with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate, applied drop by drop. Fit the barrel at the very end of the build so that it is not bent during handling, and check its axis by eye from the front while the glue sets.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
