The low-visibility aircraft gray Lifecolor Aegean/HAF Spartan Grey FS36280 Satin is an acrylic paint with a satin sheen, built for modern schemes in which neighboring areas differ by only a shade.
Responsibility details are not available.
An acrylic gray shade from the Lifecolor range aimed at modern tactical finishes built on low contrast. The number FS36280 in the name is the American Federal Standard and states the specific position of the shade, so the paint can be placed safely even without a color chart. The name of the shade brings together the Aegean region, the Hellenic Air Force and the Spartan type.
The gloss level of this paint is given as satin, that is, a silky surface between matte and gloss. Two practical advantages follow from that on a model. The surface reflects light more evenly, so the transitions between individual passes stand out less on large panels. And because a satin does not have as pronounced a microstructure as a matte, decals settle on it without a white haze around their edges and a wash draws out of the engraved lines more cleanly instead of dirtying the surface all over.
It will be appreciated by modelers of modern jet and transport aircraft and by everyone who deals with low-visibility schemes and needs a matching gray for them from one coherent range.
An acrylic paint for modeling use. Work in a ventilated area and keep it out of the reach of children.
