About product

7.5 cm Anti-tank gun PaK 40 Pressed Brass Shield (1:35, AFV Club)

An add-on part, not a standalone model. This is a pressed brass shield, which replaces the plastic gun shield of the 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun. In scale the pressed metal is markedly thinner than plastic and matches the real sheet-metal shield more faithfully.

The real subject

The 7.5 cm PaK 40 was the standard German anti-tank gun of the Second World War, of 7.5 cm caliber. Thanks to its good penetrating power it became the backbone of the German anti-tank defense from 1942 and was deployed on every front. The characteristic double shield protected the crew from splinters and from small-arms fire.

Building and painting tips

Shape the brass shield to the form of the original if needed, clean up the edges and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Treat the metal with a primer before painting. Fine chipping and dust pigments on the lower edge will help the realism.

Who it is for

  • Builders of the 7.5 cm PaK 40 gun in 1:35 scale
  • Modelers who want a realistically thin shield instead of a plastic one
  • More experienced builders working with metal

An add-on part. The model of the gun, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
