A figure of an American soldier with the M18 57 mm recoilless rifle in 1:35 scale, for scenes from the end of the Second World War as well as from Korea.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M18 was an American recoilless rifle of 57 mm caliber, that is a light weapon in which part of the propellant gases leaves through a nozzle to the rear and cancels out the recoil. Thanks to that it could be carried by one man and fired from the shoulder or from a simple support, even though at close range its round had an effect comparable with a substantially heavier gun. It reached the units at the end of the Second World War and was used in Korea as well. Behind the weapon there remains a dangerous area struck by the escaping gases, which also determined the stance of the gunner and the choice of firing position.
A figure of an American soldier with the weapon in 1:35 scale. The extent of the parts and the recommended assembly procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before painting, clean and degrease the figure, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surfaces. Assemble the figure dry first and check whether it holds the weapon naturally and whether the center of gravity matches the stance. Apply the base layer thinly so that the features of the face and the folds of the cloth are not lost. Finish the face and hands before you seat the figure into a scene, as it is more comfortable to work on a figure mounted on an auxiliary handle. Shade the uniform so that the folds are darker and the raised places lighter, otherwise the figure merges into one surface in a display case.
The figure will bring an infantry diorama as well as a scene with equipment to life, and it will also serve as a stand-alone study for a figure painter. The model, a base, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
