An Aber photo-etched metal detail set in 1:35 scale. It holds finely made cartridge case bases, the bottom plates with the primer and the stampings, for German artillery and tank ammunition of 88 and 75 mm. It serves to finish rounds and cases realistically inside a vehicle or in a diorama.
The 88 mm and 75 mm calibers were among the most widespread on German tank and anti-tank guns of the Second World War. The bases of the cases carry the primer, the stampings and the markings, which are clearly visible close up on a model, and these are exactly the details the photo-etched set sharpens.
The photo-etched metal parts are thin and small, so separate them with a sharp knife on a cutting surface and bend them over a metal ruler or a photo-etch bending tool. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), as cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a coat of primer so that the finish holds; at the end a fine wash and pigments help to pick out the detail.
