Aber 1:35 brackets for the side skirts of the Sturmgeschütz IV is a photo-etched metal detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber for models of military equipment in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Aber photo-etched metal detail set in 1:35 scale. It holds the mounts and brackets on which the side protective plates, the Schürzen, were hung on the Sturmgeschütz IV assault gun. It makes it possible to hang the skirts faithfully and at a realistic thickness, including the fine fittings that plastic parts usually only suggest.
The Sturmgeschütz IV (StuG IV) was a German assault and tank-destroyer gun built on the chassis of the Panzer IV. The side plates, the Schürzen, protected the flanks of the vehicle against armor-piercing and shaped charge ammunition; they were hung on exactly the system of brackets and mounts that this set represents.
The photo-etched metal parts are thin and small, so separate them with a sharp knife on a cutting surface and bend them over a metal ruler or a photo-etch bending tool. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), as cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a coat of primer so that the finish holds; at the end a fine wash and pigments help to pick out the detail.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
