This is not a kit of a vehicle and not a model of equipment, but a scenic accessory for a diorama in 1:35 scale. According to the name the package holds four barrels rendered so that they can be partly sunk into the terrain, into rubble or into mud. The accessory is used to fill an empty area of a base, to suggest an abandoned store or a rear area and to make the scene around the main model look lived in.
Buried and half-sunken barrels are among the most rewarding props of a diorama, because they tell a story on their own: they suggest that someone has moved through the place before, and at the same time they help to break up the flat surface of a base visually. Given their sinking into the terrain, the whole volume of a barrel does not even have to be dealt with, so they combine easily with a layer of modeling earth, gravel or plaster. The set is part of a larger range of the same type and the individual sets are set apart from one another by a number; compare their contents against the illustration.
The parts of small-run accessories tend to be of resin or of 3D printing. Wash them in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks and supports off and level the surfaces with abrasive paper, with your airways protected. Set the barrels into the terrain before the material of the surface has set, so that a natural transition arises around them. They are painted more easily before they are seated: a base coat, then the base shade and finally rust and dirt. Suggest the rust by stippling brown and orange tones and by layering washes, and cover the lower part at the ground with dust pigments, so that the barrel grows together with the terrain visually. Fix the pigments only at the end.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, terrain materials and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
