A small resin casting in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Elefant. It is not a kit but an individual detail part intended to be substituted for the corresponding component of a plastic kit. The crosswind sensor is an external probe that on the upgraded M60 versions fed the fire control system with data on the crosswind. On a model it is a small but conspicuous element - it is visible from above and in plastic it tends to be molded as a coarse, simplified shape.
The manufacturer offers two versions under separate part numbers. Before buying we recommend comparing the shape of the probe with photographs of the vehicle you are building.
Thin castings of this kind are fragile and easily lost, so work over a tray with a raised edge and hold the part with tweezers with soft jaws. Separate it from the casting block with a fresh blade or a fine saw, and never break it off. Before painting, wash it in warm water with detergent because of the mold release agent, let it dry and apply a very thin primer, so that the edges do not get filled in. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally the gel type applied with the head of a pin - a drop from the bottle would drown the part. Paint it together with the whole vehicle and at the end bring out the shadow under the probe with a dark wash, so that the detail stands out.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
